Hey!

Another week gone and by! So yesterday was awesome because Junior blessed the sacrament!!! He did so good! I was so proud of him! And then it was the primary program, which was soooo cute! Little Latino children are the cutest.  It brought tears to my eyes as I saw the Reyes kids up there singing their hearts out to all the primary songs.. Very proud moment!

We had a lesson with our investigator this week, which went really well. We talked about the Book of Mormon and we read 3 Nefi 11. We told her to just read verses 1 - 15, but she read almost the whole thing! She was loving it! She kept pausing and saying "wooow" and that she had goosebumps. It was definitely a testimony builder to me of how powerful the Book of Mormon is. I invite you all to read 3 Nephi 11, because it is amazing doctrine and the spirit is always so strong!

So I just wanna share a story real quick about Hermana Vera and Hermana Padron.  They both grew up together in Toronto, but a long time ago, something happened and they had a falling out, so they weren't the best of friends.  They both got called to this mission, and both were serving in the same ward, so saw each other ALL the time.  At first you could tell that they did not want to see each other.. haha.  They were content to just talk to other people.  But one day Hermana Padron was sick, and we were all at their house studying.  And out of nowhere, Hermana Vera says she wants to make her some weird latino drink so that she can get healed. So she makes it and gives it to her and that's that.  But ever since that... they have been BEST FRIENDS.  I watched this whole thing happen over the past couple weeks, and it really was a huge lesson that I learned.  That no matter what has happened between you and someone, always always choose to serve them and to love them.  All it took was for them to not be prideful, forget about the past, and choose to love.  And that's what they both did! And everything changed and they were both so happy!! It seriously was the coolest thing ever.  So if you ever feel like you don't love someone, choose to forget about it, and serve them! That's what the Savior would do.

Hope you all have a good week! Saludos from Canada!

Hola mis queridos!

Another week passed.. It was good! Pretty normal week. The weather has been wonderful, so we've been able to go out a couple times and contact. Which is the best! There's only this time that I have to be able to go out and ask people if they want to learn about Jesus Christ.. so I gotta take advantage of every second I have! We had the most incredible lesson with the Reyes about the Priesthood.. which he got yesterday!! It was really cool to be able to share about when my Dad would give us all blessings before school started every year and some other experiences that I've had with the Priesthood. Then we talked about their sealing! They are SO excited!! Makes my heart so happy <3

So about Gustavo from last week.. we were super pumped for our lesson and everything. We studied hard core for him and even knelt down and prayed for a baptismal date and came up with the 19th! We felt so good about it.. fast forward a couple hours and he cancels. We were sooooo bummed.. But, life goes on. So we head over to Elena's house to have a member lesson and we walk in and our MIA investigator, Luna, is there!!! ahhh it was amazing!!! So we switch the lesson and end up teaching her EVERYTHING that we studied for Gustavo.. We even put her on date for the 19th (but she didn't go to church.. so we don't know if that will happen) but it was the coolest experience! All that time as we thought we were preparing for the lesson with Gustavo, the Lord really knew that we were preparing to teach Luna. It was awesome and ended up being a really good lesson!

Everything is going good up here in Canada! Hermana Vera is awesome and I'm really lucky to be with her right now. I got to see Hermana Amaller this week, which was the best! So fun to see past companions. Life is good! I love the ward.. they are my family here. They had a quincinera party this weekend and it was just so fun to see everyone there. I really love all these people and I'm so glad that I've gotten to serve them for the past year of my life! Well love you all, have a good week!

Hey fam!
Another great week in the best mission in the world! We saw a lot of way cool miracles this week! I'll tell ya about them..

-So on Saturday morning around 6:40 we get a text from this unknown number asking for me... I was just a little freaked out.. turns out though, that it was Gustavo!!! Gustavo was a Wal mart worker that Hermana Allphin and I befriended back in March! Every pday we would talk to him and we ended up giving him a book of mormon that had our names and number in it! I got transfered and we had lost contact with him until this weekend! Over the summer he read the book of mormon and now is rereading the parts that he didn't understand!! ahh the entire convo was a missionary's dream! <3 we have an appt with him on wednesay, so pray for Gustavo!

-We were up working by the temple and I felt like we should go walk around.. so we go and talk some pics and as we're walking out, this man pulls up to us in a car and asks "hey can I go in there and pray?" and points to the temple.. i'm like umm nooo buuut... we're the sister missionaries and we can teach you right now! he's was like "okay! let me park!" (this never happens) so we walk over and sit down in front of the temple and teach him about the Atonement and give him a book of mormon. We read Alma 7:11-14 and 14 talks all about baptism.. so after he finished reading I asked the question "so what would these verses have you do?" and he says it... "well I should be baptized" YES it was so awesome!! we asked if he'd like to have missionaries teach me and he said yes. so we passed him off, hopefully all goes well!

-Last week we were at shoppers sending some mail and I had noticed this old man. Then all of a sudden he was gone but his wallet was still there... so I sneakily went over there and opened it and it was FULL of cash.. like probably 300 bucks! so hermana vera walked over and I was like "should we leave it with the store or go take to his house??" we decide to go take it to his house. So we drive up there and see their garage is open. we pull up and there is the CUTEST and OLDEST lady I have ever seen!!! she was struggling with her grocies, so we helped her take them in. We asked if Douglas lives there and we told her that her husband left his wallet at the store and oh my goodness, her face was priceless. She was sooooooo thankful! It was seriously the cutest thing ever! She was so grateful that we would do something like that and she asked where we were from so we were able to talk about the church. we drove away feeling so happy!!

-La familia reyes is doing awesome! we had such an amazing lesson with them this weekend with a couple who just got sealed! we talked about their sealing and they cannot wait until October 2nd, 2017! <3 we also asked them for a referral and they said "we alreayd have someone in sight!" recent convert fire is the BEST! I love them so much

Love you all! Being a missionary is the best!
